REVIEW: YUNGBLUD brings MENTAL self titled WORLD TOUR to BALTIMORE, MD

Situated on the Baltimore Inner Harbor, Pier Six Pavilion is the city’s premiere outdoor summer concert venue. Tonight’s performance was sure to get ‘fookin’ MENTAL. With 2 separate lines wrapped around the venue, it was clear to see who fans came to see! Sporting pink socks and black hearts, fans rushed past staff and into their seats.

Opening the show was Sophie Powers

Sophie Powers
delivered an absolute electric performance as an opener on the YUNGBLUD WORLD TOUR. Despite only being 18 years old, Powers showed maturity and passion while on stage, leading to an overall greater performance. During her show, Powers sang some of her more popular songs and did her own rendition of a Nirvana song as well. However, no matter what she performed, the crowd seemed to become more involved as her set progressed.

The Regrettes were the next to take the stage. These L.A. indie rockers have been making Alternative waves since their arrival on scene in 2017. The band is made up of Lydia Night (lead Vocals / guitar), Genessa Gariano (lead guitar / vocals), Brooke Dickson (bass / keyboard),  and Drew Thomsen (drums). The Regrettes are paving their own path. Managing to straddle the line along all different alternative styles, The Regrettes sound is high energy, catchy, and just plain fun, while retaining the spirit of Riot Grrrl and feminist protest. Their subtle wit and often times casual remarks on takes like love, political conflict, and women’s rights are intertwined with ripping guitars, groovy bass, and hard drumming.

Before Yungblud even stepped foot on stage, the atmosphere in the venue went into a frenzy. Known for his relentless energy that captivates any audience with a magnetic force, Yungblud is a fan favorite in the music world. With every jump, scream, and passionate gesture, Yungblud commanded the stage with an infectious intensity that had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Yungblud left it all on stage; running around, having sing-alongs with the crowd and making his fans melt with happiness. Below you will find this shows SET LIST.
