BLUE RIDGE ROCK FESTIVAL RETURNS IN 2023 WITH STACKED LINE UP! 2022 recap + 2023 preview

From the beginning, we can sum up Virginia’s Blue Ridge Rock Festival success in a few words, “Fan Driven, Growth and Opportunity.” What started in 2017 as a one-day festival headlined by Creed’s Scott Stapp has ballooned into a four-day party, multiple stage party with tons of talent!!

In 2022, Blue Ridge Rock Festival made a huge move in solidifing a future on meta and rock on the east coast. Blue Ridge moved into their new home, Virginia International Raceway; a large state of the art facility large enough to contain the ever-growing attendance and for festival-goers to call home over a five-day stretch in each September. Upgrades in parking, camping grounds, and other services were promised for fans in 2022 with the new venue.

As September approached and the line up revealed it was clear to see Virginia was in for one hell of a rock experience. .

One battle at all fesitvals alike is many acts overlap or have conflicting time slots; however, this is not to be such a bad thing at Blue Ridge, with the 5 stages to host the biggest names in Rock and Metal universe. The 2 biggest main stages were side by side – the ZYN and Monster Energy stages. As promised, these main stage set ups featured no overlapping performances, with one stage setting up while the other stage featured a performance. A bit far from these stages were URW and Fan Driven stages. though these are not really side by side, but close by. Between these stages, there is another stage called – The heart Support stage that hosted some exciting shows as well though-out the day almost one after another. The whole venue had multiple foods and drinks shops, water dispensers, and restrooms. Safety was a big priority with well-managed security staff, first aid spots, etc. Overall logistically it was well managed to give the audience a good experience.

Featuring a hefty lineup of over 100 of some of the most notable acts in the game, including well-known headliners such as DisturbedMudvayneAlice CooperLamb of GodGhost, and the almighty Slipknot, these names alone were enough to attract over 40,000 people on a daily basis throughout the four days of festivities.

Now let’s talk about the main component of the festival – the bands and other performers. Seeing the biggest names of the music industry perform one after another – is a lifetime experience for anyone. Below you will find images from 45+ bands we covered at Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2022!
