Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2023 recap

With BRRF being done and over for another year, its time to revisit our festival experience. First and foremost, the relationships built at blue ridge rock festival are unlike anywhere else. I always say Blue Ridge is a family reunion with A LOT of rock and metal music in the background While it was cut short because of severe weather, most fans were upbeat and happy to return to VIR for this stacked line up.  Seeing fans so amped up and ready to rock to the largest rock festival in the United States; unbelievable.

We started Thursday off catching Heartsick. This band showed up ready to throw down. Full of evergy, vocalist Alfonso Civile created a wave of energy wherever he went. Bouncing from stage down to walking the barricade, then jumping into the fans and crowd, EVERYONE was on their feet. What a way to start out an epic day of music!

Next up, Stitched Up Heart delivered a performance that blew me away. The power behind the voice from lead vocalist Alecia ‘Mixi’ Demner was simply breathtaking. Her deep growls totally stole the performance along with the expressive guitar and bass playing of Merritt Goodwin and Randy Mathias.

The following performances were covered with pictures attached!

-ADEMA
-CKY
-Vended
-Vince Neil
-The Ghost Inside
-Highly Suspect

These bands left their marks on the fans who showed up! Huge crowds migrated from stage to stage catching some incredible performances until a weather evaluation forced the closure of BRRF for the day.

Friday was an absolute GORGEOUS day. Blue skies and warm temps as fans headed into the venue ready to rock. A full day of music progressed with photos attached of performances from

-Struggle Jennings
-Upon A Burning Body
-Afterlife
-Black Stone Cherry
-Trust Company
-Coal Chamber
-Knocked Loose
-Electric Callboy
-Sleep Token
-Motionless In White
-Slipknot

Saturday and Sunday were ultimately canceled because of severe weather in the area. While unfortunate, safety of fans should always be considered first. Blue Ridge Rock Festival was a great experience for me. Being in attendance and able to document this was incredible and I hope to be apart for the following years to come!
