Ohio quartet The Plot In You — Landon Tewers [vocals], Josh Childress [guitar], Ethan Yoder [bass], and Michael Cooper [drums] — have shared the video for their newest single “Left Behind.”
The song is gorgeously mercurial — shifting from upbeat to pensive to ballistic — and it nods to some sonic inspirations. It’s also lyrically introspective, as is expected from the band.
“‘Left Behind’ was inspired by old nostalgic bands and artists I grew up listening to,” says Tewers. “I wanted to make something as a tribute to that sound and hopefully elevate it. It’s a song about gaining back confidence and hope after cutting off a person that was draining and moving forward with a fresh perspective.”
Last year, the band’s 2018-released single “FEEL NOTHING” was officially certified Gold by the RIAA. The song is a digital success story that still streams over 2 million times and has enjoyed an exciting beyond-viral moment on TikTok. The track appears on the band’s album DISPOSE.
The Plot In You will return to the road this spring on the headline “Watch the Divide” tour with Holding Absence, Thornhill, and Banks Arcade in tow. The tour kicks off on April 7 in New Haven, CT and runs through May 13 in Cincinnati. All dates are below.
